Description
The most precious thing in the world lives inside of us – and that thing is an idea. No matter how innovative or revolutionary an idea is, it is powerless and inconsequential if it can not be transmitted from within the mind that has conjured it.
Yet, so many people have great difficulty speaking in public. The US National Institute of Mental Health reports that public speaking anxiety affects about 73% of the population.
Evolutionary psychologists believe that for our prehistoric ancestors in a tough environment, living in a tribe was a basic survival skill. Rejection from the group led to death.
Speaking to an audience makes us vulnerable to rejection, much like our ancestors feared. At any given time, you could unwittingly say something inappropriate or unseemly that would make you less accepted. In a 1-on-1 conversation, that’s a relationship that can be mended. But in a 1-on-5? At 1-on-1,000, our evolutionary instincts perk up and pressure to be accepted builds.

About The Trainer
Center Stage is a communications consultancy specialised in public speaking preparation and content development for events. Center Stage’s founder, Guy Benzeno, helps people prepare their important speaking engagements and organisations upgrade their people’s presentation skills.

As an improvisation actor and a member of Luxembourg's professional improv league since 2014 (GIPL.lu), Guy uses his experience with improv to mentor clients about stage presence, spontaneity, and storytelling.
As pitching coach, Guy pushes startupers to make their ideas shine brighter.
Guy has extensive experience of events and onstage content development. As the former director of the Paperjam Club, he has led the production teams for over 50 conferences and hundreds of speakers.
Guy is an active member of Luxembourg-based Toastmasters club Pitchcraft 4 Entrepreneurs.
